About KLANS
KLANS is a social platform for gamers. Only for gamers.
No lifestyle feed, no influencer economy, no algorithm deciding what you care about this morning. A place to keep up with the games you play, stay in touch with the people you play them with, and find new ones when your squad logs off for good.
It is built and run by two people, in their spare time, because we wanted it to exist.
Why we built it
Gaming communities are scattered across half a dozen places that were never really built for them.
The big social networks treat gaming as one hobby category among a hundred, buried under everything else in the feed. Chat platforms are great for the group you are already in, and useless for finding anyone outside it — a server you were not invited to might as well not exist. Forums are fragmenting. Game news lives on sites that need to sell you a review before they tell you a patch shipped.
So the gaming part of your life ends up spread across five apps, and none of them knows the others exist.
The idea behind KLANS is simple: put it in one place, and keep it light.
- Stay informed. Official news for the games you follow, on the game's own page, without a content farm in between.
- Stay in contact. Your friends, your clan, your wall, your messages. The people you actually play with.
- Find new people. Clans recruiting, events to join, and Looking For Play posts for when you need a fourth and your usual fourth has a life now.
That is the whole product. We are not trying to replace your voice chat, and we are not trying to be everything. A gaming social platform that stays a gaming social platform is the point, not a limitation we plan to grow out of.
Who we are
KLANS is made by two people:
Riad Hodžić
GermanyWeb developer. Gardening and anything outdoors when he is away from a screen, and gaming when he is not.
Jordy de Koning
NetherlandsA firefighter — the actual kind. Gaming and motorbikes off duty, and a soft spot for anything technical.
We are not a company, and there is no team behind us. There is no office, no investors, and no growth targets. There are two people who like writing code and like games, working on this around jobs and the rest of life.
Everything you see here — the platform, the design, the servers, the moderation, the replies to your emails — is us. When you report a bug, one of us reads it. When something breaks at a bad time, one of us is fixing it after work.
That is the honest scale of this project, and we would rather tell you upfront than pretend to be bigger than we are.
KLANS is in early alpha
This matters, so we are putting it plainly rather than in small print.
What that means for you:
- Things will break. Some features are incomplete, some are missing, some work differently than you expect.
- The design and the features will change, sometimes noticeably, as we work out what actually helps.
- Performance will be uneven while we tune things.
- Your feedback genuinely changes what gets built next. At this size, one good bug report can shift the week's priorities.
What it does not mean: your account and your content are treated as real, not as test data. We are not planning to wipe anything.
If you are here at this stage, you are early, and you are shaping what this becomes. We do not take that lightly.
How we run it
A few commitments, because they are easier to make now than to retrofit later:
- No ads. We do not sell advertising space, and we do not plan to.
- We do not sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what we collect and why.
- No engagement tricks. No dark patterns to keep you scrolling, no manufactured outrage, no notifications designed to drag you back.
- Rules that are actually enforced. Our Community Guidelines are strict on purpose — no leaks, no piracy, no harassment, no politics, no religion, keep it about games. A smaller community that works beats a bigger one that doesn't.
- We tell you when we get it wrong. Moderation decisions come with a reason and an appeal route. Automated systems make mistakes, and we would rather fix them than defend them.
KLANS is free. If we ever add anything paid, it will be optional, it will be obvious, and nothing you already use will disappear behind it.
Independence
KLANS is an independent project, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any game publisher, developer or platform. Game titles, artwork and trademarks belong to their respective owners. We show official news because it is useful to you, not because anyone pays us to.
Talk to us
We read everything, and at this stage we usually reply.
If something on KLANS feels wrong, slow, confusing or broken, that is worth an email. Half of what we build next comes out of messages like that.
Built in Germany and the Netherlands, mostly at night — see you in the queue.
